Il y a beaucoup de choses \u00e0 dire quand on s’attaque \u00e0 un nouvel album de <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>Fallujah<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>Il y a encore eu pas mal de changement depuis \u00ab\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>Undying Light<\/u><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb, en effet le groupe accueil un nouveau vocaliste (le 3<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00e8me<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span> en 3 albums) et un nouveau bassiste. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Le principal compositeur du groupe est le guitariste <\/span><\/span><\/span>Scott Carstairs<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span>, et comme pas mal de groupe malheureusement, la pand\u00e9mie leur a laiss\u00e9 le temps de pouvoir compos\u00e9 et d’approfondir leur musique et leurs directions artistiques. Ce temps a-t-il \u00e9t\u00e9 b\u00e9n\u00e9fique au groupe (au guitariste)\u00a0? Nous allons en savoir plus tr\u00e8s prochainement… Mais avant tout, parlons un peu de leurs pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents efforts avant de s’attaquer au nouveau.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Fallujah<\/b><\/span> propose un death metal technique et aussi tr\u00e8s atmosph\u00e9rique. C’est la signature du groupe. Le probl\u00e8me, c’est qu’ils ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9crit leur \u00ab\u00a0classique\u00a0\u00bb avec \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>The Flesh Prevails<\/u><\/i><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb sorti en 2014, et chaque nouvelle sortie du groupe serait tendance \u00e0 \u00eatre compar\u00e9e avec celui-l\u00e0<\/span>. C’est pour cela que \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>Dreamless<\/u><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>Undying Light<\/u><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb n’\u00e9taient pas \u00e0 la hauteur des esp\u00e9rances des fans, et de moi-m\u00eame. Ce n’\u00e9tait ni bon, ni mauvais mais loin de la grande qualit\u00e9 qu’ils proposaient \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>The Flesh Prevails<\/u><\/i><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb. La sortie de \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>Empyrean<\/u><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb, de mon point de vue, est la derni\u00e8re chance du groupe de montrer ce qu’ils ont dans le ventre. Parce qu’il n’y a pas \u00e0 nier, <\/span>Scott<\/i><\/span> est un guitariste tr\u00e8s talentueux. Et, en \u00e9coutant le premier single \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>Radiant Ascension<\/u><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb, l’espoir dans mon c\u0153ur se fit sentir. \u00c7a sonne beaucoup plus technique et incisif. Les riffs sont chirurgicaux, les m\u00e9lodies sont ent\u00eatantes et on retrouve une voix f\u00e9minine qui vole parfaitement \u00e0 leur musique. Peut-\u00eatre le come-back tant attendu\u00a0? Mais ne nous pressons pas, il y a tout un album a \u00e9cout\u00e9.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Avant de vous laisser mon avis d\u00e9finitif, parlons de l’artwork de l’album. C’est une nouvelle fois magnifique. Une entit\u00e9 myst\u00e9rieuse regardant vers les \u00e9toiles dans un environnement cosmique. Et le titre de l’album \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>Empyrean<\/u><\/i><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0empyr\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb en fran\u00e7ais, montre qu’ils ont envie d’aller tutoyer les \u00e9toiles, de retrouver la gr\u00e2ce (regardez sur Wikip\u00e9dia pour la d\u00e9finition, ne soyez pas feignants !!). Et le logo du groupe est le m\u00eame que sur \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>The Flesh Prevails<\/u><\/i><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb, et c’est pour moi un tr\u00e8s bon point de d\u00e9part (oui il ne m’en faut pas beaucoup). C’est bien beau tout \u00e7a, mais concr\u00e8tement est ce que tout va vaut vraiment le d\u00e9tour\u00a0? Ou est-ce du r\u00e9chauff\u00e9 ou une tentative de faire un \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>The Flesh Prevails 2<\/u><\/i><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0?<\/span> Il m’aura fallu plusieurs \u00e9coutes pour entendre tout ce que le groupe avait \u00e0 offrir mais Il ne m’aura pas fallu bien longtemps pour avoir un avis tranch\u00e9 sur cet album. \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>Empyrean<\/u><\/i><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb est-il l’album qui saura r\u00e9concilier les fans de la premi\u00e8re heure ou \u00e9cartera plus le foss\u00e9 avec eux (et moi aussi par la m\u00eame occasion)\u00a0? R\u00e9ponse maintenant\u00a0!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Oui en effet je fais tirer la chronique pour maintenir le suspense \u00e0 savoir si j’ai aim\u00e9 ou d\u00e9tester cet album. Est-ce que le groupe ont vu trop loin\u00a0? Ont-ils eu les yeux plus gros que le ventre\u00a0? Allez fini le suspense, \u00ab\u00a0Empyrean<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb est vraiment le retour aux sources que j’esp\u00e9rais tant\u00a0! Mais ce n’est pas pour autant comme je l’ai dit, un \u00ab\u00a0The Flesh Prevails 2<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb. Tout au long des 10 nouvelles pistes, le groupe semblent enfin avoir pioch\u00e9 dans le sac \u00e0 inspiration\u00a0: les m\u00e9lodies, les atmosph\u00e8res, le c\u00f4t\u00e9 plus rentre dedans (n’oubliez pas, c’est du death metal). On (je) retrouve la technique, les solis bien plac\u00e9s, la batterie en mode chirurgicale et les voix f\u00e9minines (oui je suis tr\u00e8s bon public pour \u00e7a). Et le nouveau frontman colle beaucoup mieux au groupe, il a un pannel de voix qui donne beaucoup de diversit\u00e9 dans les compositions. Ne vous m\u00e9prenez pas, \u00e7a gueule, \u00e7a hurle, c’est caverneux par moment, mais c’est aussi chant\u00e9. Sur les 10 nouvelles offrandes, il n’y a absolument rien \u00e0 jeter, et c’est vraiment une sacr\u00e9e surprise. Inutile de vous faire un d\u00e9tail de chaque chanson\u00a0; non pas parce que j’ai la flemme, mais j’apporte un grand soin \u00e0 l’effet de surprise. Et tout au long de ses 52 minutes, il va y avoir beaucoup de choses \u00e0 appr\u00e9cier et \u00e0 contempler. Malgr\u00e9 tout, quelques chansons sortent du lot\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Into the Eventide<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est le condens\u00e9 de tout ce que j’aime du groupe, \u00ab\u00a0Soulbreaker<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est la chanson la plus rentre dedans de l’album et le frontman s’en donne \u00e0 grandes joies, \u00ab\u00a0Celestial R\u00e9sonance<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est un superbe instrumental. Et pour le reste, c’est \u00e0 vous de jouer\u00a0!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

\u00ab\u00a0Empyrean<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb est absolument sensationnel, c’est un voyage \u00e0 travers le cosmos que l’on refera sans mod\u00e9ration (d\u00e9j\u00e0 plus de dix \u00e9coutes pour ma part). Fallujah<\/b> a r\u00e9ussi leur pari, celui d’aller tutoyer les cieux et nous mettre des \u00e9toiles plein les yeux. D\u00e9finitivement un grand album et un des meilleurs de 2022. Maintenant c’est \u00e0 vous de jouer et allez-vous en prendre plein les oreilles avec ce petit bijou de death metal.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
