Pourquoi ne pas vous raconter mon histoire avec le groupe, vous en dites quoi? Du coup, <\/span><b>Allegaeon <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a \u00e9t\u00e9 pour moi l&rsquo;un des fers de lance du mouvement \u00ab\u00a0modern death metal\u00a0\u00bb. J&rsquo;ai connu le groupe avec \u00ab\u00a0<u><i>Elements of the Infinite<\/i><\/u>\u00a0\u00bb sorti en 2014, et j&rsquo;avais vraiment accroch\u00e9 \u00e0 leur son: du technical death ultra pr\u00e9cis et m\u00e9lodique et par moment \u00e9pique. Entre temps, ils ont chang\u00e9 de frontman (bienvenue \u00e0 <i>Riley McShane<\/i>), et ils ont sorti 2 albums: le tr\u00e8s bon \u00ab\u00a0<u><i>Proponent for Sentience<\/i><\/u>\u00a0\u00bb et le bon mais moins m\u00e9morable \u00ab\u00a0<u><i>Apoptosis<\/i><\/u>\u00ab\u00a0. Du coup, me voil\u00e0 en 2022, 1 mois avant la sortie officielle avec ce nouvel album entre mes mains (dans mon t\u00e9l\u00e9phone plut\u00f4t). J&rsquo;ai eu l&rsquo;occasion de d\u00e9couvrir leur premier single \u00ab\u00a0<u>Into Embers<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb et j&rsquo;ai \u00e9t\u00e9 honn\u00eatement tr\u00e8s surpris!! Le groupe a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de modifier un peu leur trajectoire: les bases sont l\u00e0 certes, mais la prise de risques est agr\u00e9ablement surprenante. Mais on reparlera de ce changement plus tard&#8230; Alors, dans tout \u00e7a, est-ce que ce \u00ab\u00a0<i><u>Damnum<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb va se distinguer du reste de leur discographie?<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La r\u00e9ponse est un grand&#8230; D\u00e9sol\u00e9! La r\u00e9ponse est un GRAND OUI!! Premi\u00e8rement, ce \u00ab\u00a0<u><i>Damnum<\/i><\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est l&rsquo;album que j&rsquo;ai le plus \u00e9cout\u00e9 de leur discographie. Chose importante pour moi, je n&rsquo;ai \u00ab\u00a0skipper\u00a0\u00bb aucune chanson, et c&rsquo;est un point ultra important. Mais une chose qui l&rsquo;est encore plus, c&rsquo;est la prise de risque que le groupe a op\u00e9r\u00e9 pour sortir cet album. J&rsquo;ai un peu farfouill\u00e9 sur le net \u00e0 la recherche d&rsquo;interview du combo, et il est maintes fois not\u00e9 que \u00ab\u00a0<u><i>Damnum<\/i><\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est le premier album du groupe \u00e0 \u00eatre enti\u00e8rement \u00e9crit par l&rsquo;int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 des musiciens, absolument tout le monde \u00e0 mis sa pierre \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9difice. Et honn\u00eatement, apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;\u00e9coute int\u00e9grale de l&rsquo;album, il ne fait aucun doute que ce 6\u00e8me album est meilleur en tout point!<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pour comprendre la trajectoire de cet album, il faut d\u00e9j\u00e0 savoir ce que signifie \u00ab\u00a0Damnum\u00a0\u00bb. Damnum est le latin de \u00ab\u00a0perte\u00a0\u00bb, en apprenant \u00e7a, j&rsquo;ai compris de suite que cet album serait plus s\u00e9rieux et sombre qu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;accoutum\u00e9e. \u00c7a se ressentira notamment sur les chansons \u00ab\u00a0<u>To Carry my Grief&#8230;<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, \u00ab\u00a0<\/span><u>Called Home<\/u><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0<u>Only Loss<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0. Mais c&rsquo;est surtout la performance des musiciens qui m&rsquo;int\u00e9resse le plus. L&rsquo;ensemble du groupe s&rsquo;est d\u00e9pass\u00e9 artistiquement pour cr\u00e9er cet album, je ne vois absolument rien \u00e0 jeter: les riffs, les acoustiques, les solos et m\u00eame le petit solo de piano (\u00ab\u00a0<u>Blight<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0) sont intelligemment bien \u00e9crits. Il y aura bien \u00e9videmment des moments plus m\u00e9morables que d&rsquo;autres, comme sur des chansons telles que \u00ab\u00a0<u>Of Beast and Worms<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, \u00ab\u00a0<u>Called Home<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb et le final \u00ab\u00a0<u>Only Loss<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb sont vraiment fantastiques. Mais, il y a toujours un \u00ab\u00a0mais\u00a0\u00bb (mais pas n\u00e9gatif cette fois), il y a bien une personne qui vole la vedette sur cet album, c&rsquo;est certainement <i>Riley McShane<\/i>. Le frontman du groupe a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 un panel de voix \u00e0 tomber par terre. Il passe du clean au growl, ensuite avec du clean plus satur\u00e9. La chanson \u00ab\u00a0<u>Called Home<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb en est le parfait exemple, il d\u00e9montre tout son talent et donne une le\u00e7on de ma\u00eetrise vocale! Et il m&rsquo;a donn\u00e9 un gros kiff avec un BREE (le terme BREE est associ\u00e9 \u00e0 du guttural bien gras) sur la derni\u00e8re chanson de l&rsquo;album \u00ab\u00a0<u>Only Loss<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0. \u00c9coutez \u00e0 partir de la 4\u00e8me minute et pensez \u00e0 moi! C&rsquo;\u00e9tait pour moi la cerise sur le g\u00e2teau de sa performance!<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apr\u00e8s tout \u00e7a, croyez-vous vraiment que je vais descendre cet album? Pas du tout, et c&rsquo;est tout le contraire. Le groupe nous offre l&rsquo;album le plus abouti et complet de toute leur carri\u00e8re. Le metal en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral a besoin de bouff\u00e9e d&rsquo;air frais et <\/span><b>Allegaeon <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nous offre une petite p\u00e9pite musicale et l&rsquo;une des meilleures sorties de ce d\u00e9but d&rsquo;ann\u00e9e.
