Les lyonnais de Destinity <\/b>sont de retour avec \u00ab\u00a0In Continuum<\/u><\/i>\u00ab\u00a0, 9 ans apr\u00e8s leur dernier album \u00ab\u00a0Resolve in Crimson<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb et leur split<\/i>, pour nous offrir le meilleur de leur death m\u00e9lodique<\/i>. Ils sont all\u00e9s au berceau du genre : en Su\u00e8de. L’enregistrement s’est fait au Black Lounge Studio<\/i> et le mixage a \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9 par Jonas Kjellgren<\/i> qui a travaill\u00e9 entre autres avec Sabaton<\/b>, Scar Symmetry<\/b> et Sonic Syndicate<\/b>. En sont ressortis 9 titres pour 51 minutes de bonheur!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Lorsqu’un groupe se reforme, on a deux cas de figure : soit c’est une grande r\u00e9ussite, soit c’est une catastrophe. Heureusement pour nous, ici, c’est le premier cas qui s’applique! Autant le dire tout de suite, les banni\u00e8res promo qui nous annonce un album pour les fans d’Amon Amarth<\/b>, Insomnium <\/b>et Dark Tranquility<\/b> sont tout sauf trompeuses! L’album s’ouvre avec \u00ab\u00a0The Sand Remain<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb et son ambiance \u00e0 la Insomnium<\/b>, m\u00e9lancolique, mais avec de nombreuses variations de tempo et quelques orchestrations symphoniques du plus bel effet. \u00ab\u00a0Reject the Deceit<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est plus \u00ab\u00a0festive\u00a0\u00bb, son premier couplet me donnant envie de me mettre joyeusement sur la tronche dans le pit<\/i>! L\u00e0 encore, on a le droit \u00e0 des petites surprises avec un tr\u00e8s bon solo de guitare par Seb V.S<\/i> et un pont plus \u00ab\u00a0atmosph\u00e9rique\u00a0\u00bb. Par contre la fin du titre est coup\u00e9e un peu \u00e0 l’arrache, dommage…. \u00c7a reste un d\u00e9tail, mais malgr\u00e9 tout, c’est probablement mon titre pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 de l’album. Le troisi\u00e8me morceau de \u00ab\u00a0In Continuum<\/u><\/i>\u00ab\u00a0, \u00ab\u00a0Reflections<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, reste dans la veine du pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent, \u00e0 savoir un bon titre de death m\u00e9lodique<\/i> \u00e0 la su\u00e9doise. Quant \u00e0 \u00ab\u00a0Shadows<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, il lorgne plut\u00f4t vers les voisins finnois d’Insomnium <\/b>avec son ambiance m\u00e9lancolique tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussie et son pont \u00ab\u00a0parl\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb. Retour aux influences su\u00e9doises sur \u00ab\u00a0Dawn Never Breaks<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, qui acc\u00e9l\u00e8re la cadence gr\u00e2ce aux nombreux blasts <\/i>pos\u00e9s par Florent Barboni<\/i> \u00e0 la batterie. Le solo de guitare est lui propos\u00e9 par un invit\u00e9, \u00e0 savoir Andy Gillion<\/i> (Mors Principium Est<\/b>). Au fur et \u00e0 mesure que \u00ab\u00a0In Continuum<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb progresse, on se rend compte du talent vocal de Mick Caesare<\/i> qui est aussi \u00e0 l’aise sur des morceaux intense et rapide que sur ceux plus m\u00e9lancoliques.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOn continue avec \u00ab\u00a0Architect of Light<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb qui met \u00e0 mal les cervicales, moins entra\u00een\u00e9es aux headbangs <\/i>depuis bient\u00f4t 2 ans, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son intro sentant bon le thrash <\/i>men\u00e9e par Florent Barboni<\/i> et son fr\u00e8re Stephan Barboni<\/i> \u00e0 la guitare rythmique, sans oublier David Richer<\/i> \u00e0 la basse. \u00c0 l’inverse du titre de la chanson, je trouve que le chant de Mick Caesare<\/i> est bien plus sombre dans ses growls<\/i>. \u00ab\u00a0A Lucid Strain<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb offre une mont\u00e9e en puissance tout au long de l’introduction et un refrain \u00e0 2 voix. Destinity, <\/b>avec \u00ab\u00a0In Continuum<\/u><\/i>\u00ab\u00a0 <\/b>ne tourne jamais en rond en apportant toujours une influence ou un \u00e9l\u00e9ment diff\u00e9rent sur chaque titre. Ici, c’est la pr\u00e9sence du piano en fin de morceau qui – comme dirait Philippe Etchebest<\/i> dans Top Chef<\/i> – am\u00e8ne \u00ab\u00a0ce petit truc en plus\u00a0\u00bb. La p\u00e9nulti\u00e8me composition de \u00ab\u00a0In Continuum<\/i><\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est \u00ab\u00a0Snakepit<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, une chanson men\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0tambour battant\u00a0\u00bb et r\u00e9ussie. L’album se conclut avec un r\u00e9sum\u00e9 des influences \u00e9gren\u00e9es au fil des titres: \u00ab\u00a0Salvation<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est le mix parfait d’Insomnium <\/b>et d’Amon Amarth<\/b> pour une fin en apoth\u00e9ose!\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Tout au long de \u00ab\u00a0In Continuum<\/u><\/i>\u00ab\u00a0, Destinity <\/b>nous abreuve d’un death m\u00e9lodi<\/i>que inspir\u00e9 des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences du style mais sans jamais tomber dans le plagiat. Chaque titre a sa propre identit\u00e9, ses propres influences, sans que l’on tourne en rond. Ce retour aux affaires des fran\u00e7ais est couronn\u00e9 de succ\u00e8s, en esp\u00e9rant que se soit pour longtemps! Qu’est-ce que l’on obtient lorsqu’on m\u00e9lange Amon Amarth<\/b>, Dark Tranquility<\/b>, At The Gates<\/b>, Arch Enemy<\/b> et Insomnium<\/b>? Un nom : Destinity<\/b>!
