Powerwolf <\/b>et Sabaton<\/b>, les 2 nouveaux poids lourds du heavy metal<\/i>. Les 2 groupes encha\u00eenent les bons albums et les tourn\u00e9es, au point d’\u00eatre des t\u00eates d’affiche dans la plupart des grands festivals europ\u00e9ens. Dire que chaque nouvel album est attendu est un euph\u00e9misme. en ce mois de juillet 2021 c’est au tour des allemands de Powerwolf <\/b>de sortir \u00ab\u00a0Call of the Wild<\/u><\/i>\u00ab\u00a0. Comme toujours, la pochette repr\u00e9sente un loup-garou, et est tr\u00e8s d\u00e9taill\u00e9e, pour un r\u00e9sultat final superbe. Et, pour ne pas changer une \u00e9quipe qui gagne, l’\u00e9dition collector offrira un second cd, avec des reprises des morceaux du groupe par divers chanteurs, comme sur le pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent album \u00ab\u00a0The Sacrament of Sin<\/u><\/i>\u00ab\u00a0. Parmi les invit\u00e9s on peut citer Alissa White-Gluz<\/i> (Arch Enemy<\/b>), dont la version de \u00ab\u00a0Demons Are a Girl’s Best Friend<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est d\u00e9j\u00e0 disponible (ici<\/a>). Mais aussi Johan Hegg<\/i> (Amon Amarth<\/b>), Matt Heafy<\/i> (Trivium<\/b>), Jari M\u00e4enp\u00e4\u00e4<\/i> (Wintersun<\/b>) entres autres… bref que du beau monde! Les annonces des diff\u00e9rents guests <\/i>pour le cd bonus \u00ab\u00a0Missa Cantorem<\/i><\/u>\u00a0\u00bb ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 distill\u00e9es au compte-gouttes, elles ont fait monter mes attentes, presque au d\u00e9pend de \u00ab\u00a0Call of the Wild<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb lui m\u00eame! Je n’y ai malheureusement pas eu acc\u00e8s pour cette chronique… Mais si vous \u00eates sage, je l’\u00e9diterai ou je ferai un article \u00e0 part pour donner mon (humble?) avis!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Bon, c’est bien beau tout \u00e7a mais \u00e7a ne fait pas beaucoup avancer le \u00ab\u00a0Schmilblic\u00a0\u00bb! Le groupe reste fid\u00e8le \u00e0 lui-m\u00eame et le son de l’album est le m\u00eame que sur les autres albums, pas de nouveaut\u00e9 de ce c\u00f4t\u00e9 l\u00e0, et ce n’est pas pour me d\u00e9plaire, le r\u00e9sultat \u00e9tant satisfaisant. Les th\u00e8mes abord\u00e9s sont classiques : du sang et des loups-garou pour r\u00e9sumer simplement. \u00ab\u00a0Call of the Wild<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb s’ouvre avec \u00ab\u00a0Faster Than the Flame<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb et petite d\u00e9ception, Powerwolf <\/b>s’est auto-plagi\u00e9 en nous offrant un copie (avec moins de p\u00eache!) de \u00ab\u00a0Amen & Attack<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb parue sur \u00ab\u00a0Preachers of the Night<\/u><\/i>\u00ab\u00a0. La d\u00e9ception passe rapidement, puisqu’on encha\u00eene avec le premier single <\/i>sorti \u00ab\u00a0Beast of G\u00e9vaudan<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, assur\u00e9ment un futur hit <\/i>du groupe, typiquement le genre de chanson que l’on attend des allemands. D’ailleurs pour ceux qui ne le savent pas (ou qui ne regardent pas les news que l’on publie sur Facebook<\/i>), il existe \u00e9galement une version totalement fran\u00e7aise du titre qui est \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussie, je vous donne le lien (ici<\/a>). \u00ab\u00a0Dancing With the Dead<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, le seconde single <\/i>sorti, reste dans la m\u00eame veine et sera pr\u00e9sent dans toutes les futures setlists <\/i>en concert! Petit changement d’ambiance pour \u00ab\u00a0Varcolac<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb (sorte de loups-garous dans les Balkans), titre plus sombre dont le couplet poss\u00e8de quelques similitudes avec celui de \u00ab\u00a0Nightside of Siberia<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb sur \u00ab\u00a0The Sacrament of Sin<\/i><\/u>\u00ab\u00a0. On poursuit la tracklist <\/i>de \u00ab\u00a0Call of the Wild<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb avec \u00ab\u00a0Alive or Undead<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, la ballade de l’album, sublim\u00e9e par la performance d’Attila Dorn<\/i> au chant et qui d\u00e9colle lorsque la batterie de Roel Van Helden<\/i> arrive. Clairement un des tr\u00e8s bon moment de ce CD! On n’oublie souvent que la force de Powerwolf <\/b>vient pour moi de leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 faire parfaitement coller l’ambiance de leurs chansons avec les paroles pour nous immerger dans leur univers. \u00ab\u00a0Blood for Blood (Faoladh)<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb en est la parfaite illustration avec sa cornemuse et son atmosph\u00e8re celtique pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer les loups-garous locaux! Elle est taill\u00e9e pour le live avec son refrain qui donne envie de sauter partout! Les teutons assument de plus en plus leurs origines avec des titres et chants en allemands et c’est encore le cas ici avec \u00ab\u00a0Glaubenskraft<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb dont toute la derni\u00e8re partie est dans la langue de Goethe<\/i>. Passons au titre \u00e9ponyme \u00ab\u00a0Call of the Wild<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, plus rapide dans son tempo donnant une ambiance assez fun et le refrain scand\u00e9 en fin de chanson \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re du hit <\/i>\u00ab\u00a0Sanctified with Dynamite<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, parfait pour faire chanter le public. \u00ab\u00a0Sermon of Swords<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est vraiment un condens\u00e9 du style Powerwolf<\/b>, une petite intro, des ch\u0153<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>urs sur le refrain, une bonne chanson mais qui n’est pas la plus marquante. Je passe \u00e0 ma seconde et derni\u00e8re petite d\u00e9ception, \u00ab\u00a0Undress to Confess<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, qui, avec un titre pareil promettait d’\u00eatre assez fun<\/i>, mais qui finalement reste tr\u00e8s classique. Ce n’est pas un mauvais morceau, mais je ne m’attendais pas \u00e0 \u00e7a, tout simplement. Enfin, on finit cette \u00e9coute avec \u00ab\u00a0Reverent of Rats<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb qui conclut joliment le CD, sans non plus \u00eatre inoubliable.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Powerwolf<\/b>, avec \u00ab\u00a0Call of the Wild<\/u><\/i>\u00ab\u00a0, nous offre un album assez convenu, avec quelques petites surprises tout de m\u00eame, comme notamment l’ambiance celtique de \u00ab\u00a0Blood for Blood (Faoladh)<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0. Il y a quelques d\u00e9ceptions comme le titre d’ouverture \u00ab\u00a0Faster Than the Flame<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb qui est une redite. L’ensemble reste de bonne facture avec des futurs hits \u00ab\u00a0Beast of G\u00e9vaudan<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, \u00ab\u00a0Dancing With the Dead<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, \u00ab\u00a0Blood for Blood (Faoladh)<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0.\u00a0 Les \u00ab\u00a0Loups Puissants\u00a0\u00bb justifient leur statut de poids lourd en assurant l’essentiel sans trop de prise de risques. \u00c7a passe pour cette fois mais attention \u00e0 ne pas trop se reposer sur ses lauriers \u00e0 l’avenir! \u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
