Les fran\u00e7ais sont de retour avec leur 3\u00e8me<\/sup> album nomm\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0The Impassable Horizon<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb. Pour rappel, le groupe est class\u00e9 dans la cat\u00e9gorie \u00ab\u00a0technical death metal\u00a0\u00bb. Mais depuis leur dernier album \u00ab\u00a0Rhizomes of Insanity<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb, Fractal Universe<\/b> a pris une approche plus \u00ab\u00a0progressive\u00a0\u00bb et ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 leur propre son. Pour ce nouvel album ils reprennent les m\u00eames et recommencent, tout en d\u00e9veloppant encore plus leur son et osent les prises de risques. Maintenant que les bases sont pos\u00e9es, allons plus en profondeur sur ce \u00ab\u00a0The Impassable Horizon<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb. La bande ne fait pas les choses \u00e0 moiti\u00e9 pour cet album concept, ils ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de se rapprocher de leur ami Arthur Massot<\/i> (accessoirement docteur en psychologie) pour pouvoir traiter du sujet de la mort et des relations que nous entretenons avec elle. Et c’est d’ailleurs ce m\u00eame Arthur qui a sign\u00e9 toutes les paroles de cet album. La volont\u00e9 de proposer un album musicalement et lyriquement complexe est la signature de ce groupe. Rappelons qu’il ont fait \u00e7a aussi avec leur pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente livraison. <\/span><\/span>Concernant la musique, <\/span><\/span>Vince Wilquin<\/i><\/span><\/span> (chanteur et compositeur) livre une performance assez impressionnante: le frontman compose l’int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 des chansons (musicalement) et il a aussi ajout\u00e9 une nouvelle corde \u00e0 son arc, qui est le saxophone. Et celui-ci est extr\u00eamement bien dos\u00e9, et sert vraiment de compl\u00e9ment \u00e0 la chanson. Depuis le dernier <\/span><\/span>Rivers of Nihil<\/b><\/span><\/span> et notamment avec \u00ab\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Where Owls Know my Name<\/u><\/i><\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb beaucoup de groupe ont copi\u00e9 <\/span><\/span>R.O.N<\/b><\/span><\/span> en y ajoutant du saxophone par-ci ou par-l\u00e0 sans vraiment avoir d’\u00e2me. Mais pour <\/span><\/span>Fractal Universe<\/b><\/span><\/span>, c’\u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans les tuyaux avant m\u00eame la sorti de \u00ab\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Rhyzomes of Insanity<\/u><\/i><\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u00bb. Les premi\u00e8res d\u00e9mo de ce nouvelle album datent de 2018. On se rend bien compte de la volont\u00e9 du groupe \u00e0 vouloir travailler chaque d\u00e9tail de chacun de leurs albums. Sa performance vocale est aussi extraordinaire, basculant entre le growl et le chant clair avec beaucoup plus d’aisance et de facilit\u00e9. Je ne vais pas vous faire une chronique d\u00e9taill\u00e9e chanson par chanson car pour moi l’album forme vraiment un tout, une entit\u00e9 \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re. Il s’appr\u00e9cie compl\u00e8tement en l’\u00e9coutant du d\u00e9but jusqu’\u00e0 la fin, et personnellement c’est l’album le plus abouti de leur \u00ab\u00a0jeune\u00a0\u00bb carri\u00e8re. Mais n’oublions pas que <\/span><\/span>Fractal Universe<\/b><\/span><\/span> est un groupe de death metal technique, et que les musiciens sortent une prestation de haute vol\u00e9e, autant du c\u00f4t\u00e9 du batteur que des guitaristes et bassiste. A contrario, c’est peut \u00eatre aussi l’album le plus calme et le plus accessible que le groupe ai jamais compos\u00e9. Ils ont vraiment trouve l’\u00e9quilibre parfait entre atmosph\u00e8re et brutalit\u00e9.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Cet album est pour moi l’album r\u00e9f\u00e9rence du groupe. \u00c0 d\u00e9couvrir pour les fans de death metal technique, de concept album et les fans de voyage spirituel.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
