C&rsquo;est pourtant le cas avec <b>Bodom After Midnight<\/b> et son EP posthume \u00ab\u00a0<u><i>Paint the Sky with Blood<\/i><\/u>\u00ab\u00a0. Le groupe a tenu \u00e0 rendre un ultime hommage \u00e0 un grand nom du metal \u00ab\u00a0moderne\u00a0\u00bb et le leader de ce groupe nouvellement form\u00e9 : <i>Alexi \u00ab\u00a0Wildchild\u00a0\u00bb Laiho<\/i>. Le guitariste et chanteur a, en effet, fond\u00e9 <b>Bodom After Midnight<\/b> apr\u00e8s la s\u00e9paration de <b>Children of Bodom<\/b>. Le groupe \u00e9tait (bizarre de d\u00e9j\u00e0 en parler au pass\u00e9!) compos\u00e9, en plus de Laiho, de son comparse de Children of Bodom <i>Daniel Freyberg<\/i>, du batteur <i>Waltteri V\u00e4yrynen<\/i> (<b>Paradise Lost<\/b>), du bassiste <i>Mitja Toivonen<\/i> (ex-<strong>Santa Cruz<\/strong>) et du clavi\u00e9riste <i>Vili It\u00e4pelto<\/i><strong>. <\/strong>\u00ab\u00a0<u><i>Paint the Sky with Blood<\/i><\/u>\u00ab\u00a0<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>est donc un EP de 3 titres enregistr\u00e9s en 2020, juste avant ce funeste jour du 29 d\u00e9cembre 2020 o\u00f9 <i>Alexi Laiho<\/i> nous a d\u00e9finitivement quitt\u00e9. Sur ces 3 pistes, qui repr\u00e9sentent 14 minutes, nous avons affaire \u00e0 2 compositions originales \u00ab\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Paint The Sky With Blood<\/span>\u00ab\u00a0, \u00ab\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Payback&rsquo;s A Bitch<\/span>\u00a0\u00bb et une reprise \u00ab\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Where Dead Angels Lie<\/span>\u00a0\u00bb du groupe <b>Dissection<\/b>. Le titre \u00e9ponyme ouvre cet EP en offrant le meilleur de ce que <strong>Children of Bodom<\/strong> a pu nous offrir avec ses riffs tranchants, ses claviers m\u00e9lodiques et un gros tempo \u00e0 la batterie, notamment gr\u00e2ce aux <i>blasts<\/i>. \u00ab\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Payback&rsquo;s A Bitch<\/span>\u00a0\u00bb est dans la m\u00eame veine, on sent bien que l&rsquo;objectif du groupe \u00e9tait d&rsquo;assurer une\u00a0 contuinit\u00e9 avec le reste de l&rsquo;oeuvre de <i>Laiho<\/i>, ce qui reste logique au vu du nom de groupe choisi. Quant \u00e0 la reprise, tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussie, elle am\u00e8ne une dimension bien plus lente et sombre, qui colle tr\u00e8s bien avec l&rsquo;\u00e9pilogue tragique de ce groupe quasiment mort-n\u00e9. \u00ab\u00a0<u><i>Paint the Sky with Blood<\/i><\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est une premi\u00e8re et derni\u00e8re offrande, qui nous montre tout ce que <i>Laiho<\/i> pouvait encore nous offrir mais surtout \u00e9norm\u00e9ment de regrets et de tristesse tant tout ceci \u00e9tait prometteur pour le futur&#8230;
