Depuis pr\u00e8s de vingt ans,\u00a0INGESTED,<\/b>\u00a0groupe mancunien, s’impose comme l’une des figures les plus intransigeantes du metal extr\u00eame britannique. D\u00e9fenseurs d’un son qui fusionne une brutalit\u00e9 chirurgicale avec une \u00e9criture toujours plus dynamique, ils sont pass\u00e9s de pionniers du slam underground \u00e0 une puissance incontournable et novatrice de renomm\u00e9e internationale. Avec\u00a0Denigration<\/i><\/b>\u00a0, le groupe entame un nouveau chapitre audacieux, marqu\u00e9 par la r\u00e9invention, une vision plus affirm\u00e9e et l’arriv\u00e9e d’un nouveau leader.

Au c\u0153ur de cette \u00e9volution demeurent les membres fondateurs Sean Hynes (guitare, ch\u0153urs) et Lyn Jeffs (batterie), v\u00e9ritables piliers cr\u00e9atifs dont la vision, la complicit\u00e9 et l’\u00e9nergie in\u00e9puisable animent\u00a0Ingested<\/b>\u00a0depuis ses d\u00e9buts. Ils sont rejoints par le chanteur Josh Davies, le guitariste et chanteur Andrew Virrueta et le bassiste Thomas O’Malley, formant ainsi un groupe qui livre \u00e0 ce jour son \u0153uvre la plus dynamique et la plus percutante.<\/p>

Produit par Nico Beninato aux studios The Arch de Southport, au Royaume-Uni,\u00a0Denigration<\/i><\/b>\u00a0r\u00e9v\u00e8le\u00a0INGESTED<\/b>\u00a0\u00e0 son apog\u00e9e, dans une p\u00e9riode r\u00e9solument avant-gardiste. L’identit\u00e9 visuelle de l’album est tout aussi saisissante, avec des illustrations sign\u00e9es Giannis Nakos (Remedy Art Design), dont les images d\u00e9taill\u00e9es et inqui\u00e9tantes refl\u00e8tent la profondeur th\u00e9matique et la f\u00e9rocit\u00e9 du disque.

Amplifiant encore sa port\u00e9e et son intensit\u00e9,\u00a0Denigration<\/i><\/b>\u00a0comprend des collaborations remarquables telles que \u00ab\u00a0Merciless Reflection<\/i>\u00a0\u00bb (avec Damonteal Harris de\u00a0PeelingFlesh<\/b>\u00a0) et \u00ab\u00a0Watch You Fold<\/i>\u00a0\u00bb (avec John Gallagher de\u00a0Dying Fetus<\/b>\u00a0), ainsi que des contributions suppl\u00e9mentaires de Skyler Conder (\u00a0Cell<\/b>\u00a0) et Kyle Medina (\u00a0Bodysnatcher<\/b>\u00a0).

Tant au niveau des paroles que de la musique,\u00a0Denigration<\/i><\/b>\u00a0est une prise de conscience brutale. L’album parle de la descente aux enfers, de la r\u00e9duction \u00e0 sa plus simple expression, et du choix entre s’y soumettre ou s’en servir comme d’une arme. Il en r\u00e9sulte une \u0153uvre plus percutante, plus profonde, qui r\u00e9v\u00e8le un groupe n’ayant pas peur d’\u00e9voluer tout en rendant hommage \u00e0 l’extr\u00eame brutalit\u00e9 qui a forg\u00e9 sa r\u00e9putation. Le groupe explique : \u00ab\u00a0Musicalement, nous avons puis\u00e9 dans tous les \u00e9l\u00e9ments tiss\u00e9s au fil des ann\u00e9es \u2013 slam, groove, m\u00e9lodie, dissonance sombre \u2013 pour les tordre et en faire une affirmation d\u00e9finitive plut\u00f4t qu’une simple remise \u00e0 z\u00e9ro. C’est le son de ceux qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tra\u00een\u00e9s dans la fange et qui refusent d’y rester.<\/i>\u00a0\u00bb

\u00c0 propos du premier single de l’album, \u00ab\u00a0Merciless Reflection<\/i>\u00a0\u00bb, le groupe explique : \u00ab\u00a0\u201cMerciless Reflection\u201d se niche dans les recoins les plus sombres de votre esprit. Les paroles sont une spirale de pens\u00e9es intrusives, de d\u00e9sillusion religieuse et de d\u00e9go\u00fbt de soi, cette impression de ressasser les m\u00eames \u201ccycles barbares\u201d jusqu’\u00e0 ne plus savoir si l’on court apr\u00e8s le salut ou si l’on ne fait qu’alimenter le mal. La foi n’apporte aucun r\u00e9confort ici ; c’est une autre lame. Le narrateur est banni, r\u00e9duit \u00e0 n’\u00eatre qu’une \u201cgrosse erreur\u201d, fouillant les d\u00e9combres de la croyance et r\u00e9alisant que la r\u00e9demption n’a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 garantie. \u00bb<\/i>

Musicalement, c’est une v\u00e9ritable d\u00e9claration d’amour \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque qui nous a fa\u00e7onn\u00e9s : du slam pur et dur, sans fioritures. C’est primitif dans le bon sens du terme, avec des riffs bruts et puissants, un groove primitif, des passages taill\u00e9s pour faire claquer les corps, le tout enrob\u00e9 de la pr\u00e9cision et de la production que nous avons d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es. Faire appel \u00e0 D de PeelingFlesh pour ces vocaux gutturaux et d\u00e9go\u00fbtants, c’\u00e9tait une fa\u00e7on de rendre hommage au son de nos d\u00e9buts et d’y affirmer notre identit\u00e9.
