Quatre compositeurs accomplis qui ont le rock et metal, mais aussi le blues, la soul voire m\u00eame le hip-hop dans le sang, et ce sans jamais oublier leurs racines bien ancr\u00e9es dans le sud des Etats-Unis. De bons vieux potes dot\u00e9s d&rsquo;un sens instinctif et compatissant les uns vis -\u00e0 -vis des autres.<\/p><p>Produit et enregistr\u00e9 par le groupe aux High Street Studios \u00e0 Bowling Green, dans le Kentucky, ce EP refl\u00e8te parfaitement ce qu&rsquo;est BSC. Au fil de ces 7 morceaux\u00a0 \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2me brute, on ressent,\u00a0 \u00e0 travers des riffs muscl\u00e9s bien s\u00fbr, du bonheur, mais aussi du chagrin. En fait, ce mini album \u00e9mouvant est un condens\u00e9 des exp\u00e9riences de vie de quatre hommes approchant de la quarantaine (dont deux d&rsquo;entre eux sont devenus parents). Au six titres originaux imposants, pr\u00eats \u00e0 \u00eatre jou\u00e9s live, j&rsquo;ajoute une surprenante reprise du hit de Simple Minds \u00ab\u00a0Don&rsquo;t You (Forget About Me)\u00a0\u00bb enregistr\u00e9e avec Tyler Connolly, chanteur\/guitariste du groupe canadien Theory Of A Deadman.<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0Celebrate\u00a0\u00bb est charg\u00e9 de contrastes. \u00ab\u00a0I&rsquo;m Fine\u00a0\u00bb est une chanson grunge r\u00eaveuse et \u00e9tourdissante, dans la veine de Nirvana. Mais c&rsquo;est \u00ab\u00a0Deep\u00a0\u00bb, un morceau mid-tempo poignant et d\u00e9chirant, qui touche une corde sensible, en particulier chez Ben. Apr\u00e8s avoir longtemps lutt\u00e9 contre des probl\u00e8mes d&rsquo;infertilit\u00e9, lui et sa femme ont subi une fausse couche au milieu du processus d&rsquo;\u00e9criture. Deux jours plus tard, il a transpos\u00e9 cette terrible exp\u00e9rience dans cette chanson&#8230;<\/p><p>Pour finir en beaut\u00e9, \u00ab\u00a0Celebrate\u00a0\u00bb se termine par une reprise \u00e0 la fois puissante et sensuelle du classique de Simple Minds \u00ab\u00a0Don&rsquo;t You (Forget About Me)\u00a0\u00bb, sur laquelle on note la participation vocale de Tyler Connolly (Theory Of A Deadman), un vieil ami de Black Stone. Chanson immortalis\u00e9e dans la BO de Breakfast Club &#8211; film culte de John Hughes sur le passage de l&rsquo;adolescence \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge adulte &#8211; la reprendre s&rsquo;est av\u00e9r\u00e9e \u00e9tonnamment naturelle pour Black Stone Cherry. Un mariage heureux avec la voix grave et sinc\u00e8re de Chris. \u00ab J&rsquo;adore cette chanson ! \u00bb, s&rsquo;exclame le chanteur en riant.<\/p><p>Tout le monde chez Black Stone Cherry sait que rien n&rsquo;est jamais acquis. Qu&rsquo;ils jouent devant des milliers de personnes dans une ar\u00e8ne ou un festival, puis dans un pub de 100 places, dans tous les cas nos quatre gaillards se donnent \u00e0 fond et offrent exactement le m\u00eame show. On ressent dans \u00ab\u00a0Celebrate\u00a0\u00bb le sentiment qu&rsquo;ils s&rsquo;investissent totalement, que leurs priorit\u00e9s sont claires : passer du temps avec leurs proches; se soutenir mutuellement; cr\u00e9er un lien avec le public; jouer une musique qui fait ressentir des \u00e9motions.
