Comme tout le monde, j’ai \u00e9t\u00e9 pris par surprise lorsque j’ai re\u00e7u une notification m’informant que le nouvel album des anglais de Bring Me The Horizon<\/b> \u00e9tait sorti. J’avais d\u00e9j\u00e0 chroniqu\u00e9 le premier album de cette s\u00e9rie : \u00ab\u00a0POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR<\/i><\/u><\/a>\u00ab\u00a0, qui comportait des morceaux excellents et d’autres beaucoup trop pop \u00e0 mon go\u00fbt. Le groupe a continu\u00e9 \u00e0 sortir des morceaux entre temps qui sont globalement tr\u00e8s bons : \u00ab\u00a0AmEN<\/u>!\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0DiE4u<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, \u00ab\u00a0sTraNgeRs<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, \u00ab\u00a0LosT\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Kool-Aid<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0. Je tiens d’ors et d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e0 m’excuser pour l’orthographe des titres, m\u00eame si je ne suis pas responsable, si vous avez des dol\u00e9ances, pri\u00e8re de les adresser \u00e0 Oli Sykes<\/i> et sa bande !\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u00ab\u00a0POST HUMAN: NeX GEn<\/i><\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est compos\u00e9 de 16 chansons dont 3 interludes. Elles sont faciles \u00e0 rep\u00e9rer puisqu’elles commencent toutes par le pr\u00e9fixe \u00ab\u00a0[ost]\u00a0\u00bb. La premi\u00e8re, qui ouvre l’album, est anecdotique avec ses 19 secondes qui servent d’intro pour \u00ab\u00a0YOUtopia<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb qui pr\u00e9figure parfaitement tout le CD. Le titre oscille entre du rock<\/i>, quelques accents pop <\/i>et le metal <\/i>avec ses growls <\/i>et le blast-beat<\/i> final \u00e0 la batterie, comme pouvait le faire \u00ab\u00a0Teardrops<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb sur l’album pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent. Le chant d’Oli <\/i>est tr\u00e8s percutant et porte \u00ab\u00a0YOUtopia<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0. Les instruments sont un peu plus en retrait, surtout la batterie qui le sera constamment au court de ces 16 titres. \u00ab\u00a0Kool-Aid<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb a d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9voil\u00e9 il y a un certain temps (le 5 janvier exactement), je ne vais pas m’attarder plus que \u00e7a dessus, juste pour dire qu’elle me fait furieusement penser \u00e0 du Electric Callbo<\/b>y<\/strong> dans l’esprit, ce qui est tout sauf une critique. Ne boudons pas notre plaisir d’entendre Oli Sykes<\/i> \u00ab\u00a0growler\u00a0\u00bb et de profiter d’un petit solo de guitare. On reste dans le m\u00eame esprit pour \u00ab\u00a0Top 10 staTues tHat CriEd bloOd<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, avec Oli <\/i>qui utilise toute sa palette vocale et notamment ce chant entre le chant clair\/scream<\/i>\/growl <\/i>que j’affectionne beaucoup chez lui. La fin de la chanson est beaucoup plus brutale musicalement avec pas mal de double-p\u00e9dale et de gros riffs, mais \u00ab\u00a0encadr\u00e9s\u00a0\u00bb par des sonorit\u00e9s \u00e9lectroniques fa\u00e7on jeux vid\u00e9os r\u00e9tro. Un de mes titres pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9s de \u00ab\u00a0POST HUMAN: NeX GEn<\/i><\/u>\u00ab\u00a0. La prochaine chanson est une collaboration avec AURORA <\/b>(qui chante sur \u00ab\u00a0Into The Unknown<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb dans la version anglaise de \u00ab\u00a0La Reine des Neiges 2<\/i><\/u>\u00ab\u00a0) : \u00ab\u00a0liMOusIne<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, au tempo tr\u00e8s lent mais avec un riff tr\u00e8s lourd. Il y a toujours cette oscillation entre pop<\/i>\/rock<\/i>\/metal <\/i>qui est tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussite. La pr\u00e9sence d’AURORA<\/b> est assez discr\u00e8te mais apporte un \u00e9quilibre entre les styles. Encore une fois, le titre finit de fa\u00e7on beaucoup plus agressive.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

C’est le moment de passer dans le second tiers de\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0POST HUMAN: NeX GEn<\/i><\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, avec \u00ab\u00a0DArkSide<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb (qui \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 sorti en octobre 2023 !). C’est le morceau le plus court de cet album (2:45) mais qui est terriblement accrocheur. Place \u00e0 la seconde collaboration, cette fois-ci avec Underoath<\/b>, pour \u00ab\u00a0a bulleT w\/ my namE On<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb qui passe de couplet tr\u00e8s pop \u00e0 un refrain metalcore des d\u00e9buts du groupe ! C’est tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussi. Seconde interlude, plus longue que la premi\u00e8re (1:54), tr\u00e8s indus dans son style et qui s’arr\u00eate sans transition sur \u00ab\u00a0n\/A<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0. Elle commence comme une balade sur le premier couplet, pour ensuite prendre en puissance au niveau des riffs et du chant avec de nombreux growls<\/i>. La marque de fabrique de Bring Me The Horizon<\/b> est respect\u00e9e sur tous les titres : la facilit\u00e9 d’osciller entre les styles, sans que cela ne choque ! \u00ab\u00a0LosT<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb en est encore un (tr\u00e8s bon !) exemple : elle pourrait faire penser \u00e0 du Blink-182<\/b>, mais avec quelques growls <\/i>et parties typiquement metalcore <\/i>subtilement ins\u00e9r\u00e9es. Le tout toujours enrob\u00e9 de parties \u00e9lectro <\/i>utilis\u00e9es avec parcimonie. Le morceau suivant : \u00ab\u00a0sTraNgeRs<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb reste dans le m\u00eame moule, quoique moins extr\u00eame et plus lin\u00e9aire, ce qui n’enl\u00e8ve rien \u00e0 sa qualit\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un tr\u00e8s bon refrain.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nous entrons ensemble dans ce dernier tiers d’album, et vous pouvez oublier ce que je viens de vous dire sur la parcimonie des effets \u00e9lectroniques. En effet, \u00ab\u00a0R.i.p (duskCOre Remix)<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb l’assume \u00e0 fond, jusqu’\u00e0 la batterie \u00ab\u00a0trigg\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb sur le refrain et les parties de double-p\u00e9dale. Quel contraste entre le \u00ab\u00a0tapis\u00a0\u00bb de double-p\u00e9dale et le chant sur la fin du titre, tout Bring Me The Horizon<\/b> r\u00e9sum\u00e9 en 20 secondes ! Pour continuer dans les caract\u00e9ristiques des anglais, il y en a une autre, c’est les collaborations : pour \u00ab\u00a0AmEN<\/u>!\u00a0\u00bb, ce sont Lil Uzi Vert<\/i> et Daryl Palumb<\/i>o (Glassjaw<\/b>) qui sont invit\u00e9s. Le r\u00e9sultat est encore une fois r\u00e9ussi, chacun s’ins\u00e9rant bien dans la globalit\u00e9 du titre, et cela permet d’accentuer les contrastes au sein du titre, pour permettre \u00e0 Bring Me The Horizon<\/b> de renouer avec le metalcore<\/i>\/deathcore <\/i>de leurs d\u00e9buts ! Derni\u00e8re interlude, et la plus longue (2:49), \u00ab\u00a0[ost] p.u.s.s.-e<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb ne se renierait pas dans une rave-party<\/i>. Il est int\u00e9ressant de noter que les 2 interludes (je ne compte pas la premi\u00e8re), ne servent absolument pas d’introduction au titre qu’elles pr\u00e9c\u00e8dent, c’est m\u00eame plut\u00f4t l’inverse ! On passe d’une ambiance techno \u00e0 \u00ab\u00a0DiE4u<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, premier morceau d\u00e9voil\u00e9 (en f\u00e9vrier 2022 !), presque pop sans jamais totalement l’\u00eatre mais terriblement efficace. Pour cl\u00f4turer ce \u00ab\u00a0POST HUMAN: NeX GEn<\/i><\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, nous avons le droit au plus long morceau : \u00ab\u00a0DIg It<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb (7:12), qui d\u00e9bute dans un style pop<\/i>\/RnB<\/i>, les guitares et les growls <\/i>apparaissant apr\u00e8s 4 minutes, mais de fa\u00e7on sporadique. \u00ab\u00a0DIg It<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb se finit r\u00e9ellement au bout de 5 minutes, il y a ensuite un bon moment de blanc audio avant une voix robotique (la poup\u00e9e de la pochette?) qui finit par \u00eatre brouill\u00e9e.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Bring Me The Horizon<\/b> livre avec\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0POST HUMAN: NeX GEn<\/i><\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, leur album \u00e0 mon sens le plus abouti ! Les anglais maitrisent parfaitement leur style unique entre pop<\/i>,\u00a0rock <\/i>et metal <\/i>teint\u00e9 d’\u00e9lectro<\/i>, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 avant ils oscillaient entre chaque style au cours d’un enregistrement, ici tout est parfaitement amalgam\u00e9 dans chaque titre. Oli Sykes<\/i> a retrouv\u00e9 sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00ab\u00a0screamer\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0growler\u00a0\u00bb, et \u00e7a joue beaucoup dans ces variations de style. Les collaborations avec diff\u00e9rents artistes d’horizons divers permettent de pousser le curseur plus loin dans les \u00e9carts sans jamais tomber dans la caricature. C’est un sans faute et je leur pardonne presque l’orthographe des titres !\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
