J’ai \u00e9t\u00e9 assez surpris en apprenant que Sylvaine<\/b> sortait un EP, 2 ans apr\u00e8s son dernier album \u00ab\u00a0Nova<\/i><\/u>\u00a0\u00bb (qui \u00e9tait d’ailleurs tr\u00e8s bon). La prolifique et talentueuse Kathrine Shepard <\/i>ne manque pas d’inspiration et l’a mise \u00e0 profit pour cet EP, dans un style un peu diff\u00e9rent. \u00ab\u00a0Eg Er Flamand<\/u><\/i>\u00a0\u00bb est un EP tr\u00e8s intimiste, avec quasiment aucun instrument, seulement des nappes de synth\u00e9 pour l’ambiance et quelques notes de guitare. Sylvaine <\/b>a pour habitude de varier les langues dans ses chansons (anglais, norv\u00e9gien, un peu de fran\u00e7ais aussi), mais pour cette fois, il n’y a que sa langue maternelle\u00a0qui sera utilis\u00e9e : le norv\u00e9gien.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Les 6 titres sont assez courts (un seul titre de plus de 5 minutes), surtout compar\u00e9s aux albums pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents ou les dur\u00e9es sont plut\u00f4t invers\u00e9es ! Au vu des morceaux, tr\u00e8s planants et atmosph\u00e9riques, des morceaux plus longs n’auraient pas \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s une id\u00e9e pertinente. D\u00e8s les premi\u00e8res secondes de \u00ab\u00a0Dagsens Auga Sloknar Ut<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, je suis emport\u00e9 dans un autre monde, myst\u00e9rieux, \u00e9th\u00e9r\u00e9, hors du temps. Les rares notes de synth\u00e9tiseur en toile de fond, qui persistent dans l’oreille, hypnotisent jusqu’\u00e0 l’arriv\u00e9e de la guitare pour la fin du titre. \u00ab\u00a0Arvestykker<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb abandonne les quelques notes de guitare pour plonger dans ce que j’assimilerai \u00e0 des chants de rituel chamaniques, avec des pistes de chant en \u00e9cho. Le champ en norv\u00e9gien, qui est une langue qui m’est compl\u00e9tement inconnue renforce cette impression, il est dur de distinguer les mots des vocalises mais toute mon attention est capt\u00e9e par ces chants envo\u00fbtants quasiment a cappella. Les orchestrations sont pr\u00e9sentes sur \u00ab\u00a0Eg Veit I Himmelrik Ei Borg<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, avec des instruments classiques et un peu de guitare. Le chant sert d’accompagnement, \u00e0 l’instar de ce que fait Alcest<\/b> (il faut d’ailleurs savoir que Neige <\/i>a \u00e9t\u00e9 le batteur pour les premiers concerts de Sylvaine<\/b>). Pour le titre le plus long de cet EP, \u00ab\u00a0Livets Dans<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, les notes de synth\u00e9tiseurs persistantes de \u00ab\u00a0Dagsens Auga Sloknar Ut<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb sont de retour, avec un chant tr\u00e8s lent en multi-pistes pour cr\u00e9er un \u00e9cho. Globalement, les titres sont un peu tous dans la m\u00eame veine. Mais la m\u00e9connaissance de la langue m’emp\u00eache tr\u00e8s probablement de profiter \u00e0 fond du chant : je n’y retrouve que des sonorit\u00e9s qui semblent se r\u00e9p\u00e9ter, m\u00eame si cela reste agr\u00e9able \u00e0 l’oreille, mais je n’en saisis pas la po\u00e9sie ainsi je ne fais que la deviner. \u00ab\u00a0Tussm\u00f8rke<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb reprend les notes de guitare finales de \u00ab\u00a0Dagsens Auga Sloknar Ut<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb pour la prolonger, comme \u00ab\u00a0Livets Dans<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb le faisait juste avant pour la premi\u00e8re partie du morceau. C’est comme un outro de l’outro de \u00ab\u00a0Dagsens Auga Sloknar Ut<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, d’o\u00f9 mes propos pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents sur la langue qui constitue un \u00e9l\u00e9ment bloquant pour appr\u00e9cier \u00e0 fond cet EP. Il se cl\u00f4ture avec le titre \u00e9ponyme \u00ab\u00a0Eg Er Framand<\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, port\u00e9 par la voix de Kathrine<\/i> a cappella encore une fois, mais dans des intonations qui peuvent \u00e0 certains moments rappeler \u00ab\u00a0Now We are Free<\/u>\u00a0\u00bb de la BO de Gladiator <\/b>(si si je vous le jure !).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Avec cet EP \u00ab\u00a0Eg Er Flamand<\/i><\/u>\u00ab\u00a0, que je qualifierai d’acoustique (m\u00eame si ce n’est pas le terme le plus appropri\u00e9), Sylvaine <\/b>nous emm\u00e8ne \u00e0 la fronti\u00e8re de la po\u00e9sie et des rites chamaniques avec une grande sobri\u00e9t\u00e9. Mais la non-maitrise du norv\u00e9gien att\u00e9nue la beaut\u00e9 et la compr\u00e9hension des morceaux… En comparaison avec les paroles d’Alcest<\/b> (qui \u00e9volue dans la m\u00eame sph\u00e8re) qui sont la majorit\u00e9 du temps en fran\u00e7ais, cela permet plus facilement le voyage. Ici, je me contente de me laisser porter dans ce voyage mais j’ai l’impression de ne pas l’avoir fait moi-m\u00eame. Ceci dit, la beaut\u00e9 n’est pas alt\u00e9r\u00e9e, c’est juste l’exp\u00e9rience qui n’est pas pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e dans les conditions optimales. Cependant, si vous souhaitez vous d\u00e9tendre et vous laisser transporter ailleurs, \u00ab\u00a0Eg Er Flamand<\/i><\/u>\u00a0\u00bb est parfait pour vous !<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
