\u00c9crire sur un groupe que l\u2019on ne conna\u00eet pas, ce n’est pas forc\u00e9ment une chose facile, mais il est toujours agr\u00e9able de d\u00e9couvrir et de mettre en valeur la sc\u00e8ne et les groupes fran\u00e7ais. Bleu, blanc, rouge: cocorico !<\/span><\/p>

Tragos<\/b>, originaire de Rouen, est un jeune groupe de (old school) death metal baroque avec, selon moi, quelques notes teint\u00e9es thrash metal. On pourrait quasiment dire qu\u2019avec cet EP, on retrouve un TRAGOS 2.0, presque un nouveau groupe qui \u00e9merge: en effet, puisqu\u2019ici on a une vraie batterie dirig\u00e9e par <\/span>Laurent <\/span><\/i>mais aussi un tout nouveau frontman, <\/span>Kevin <\/span><\/i>qui remplace Antoine. Ces changements arrivent seulement 2 ans apr\u00e8s leur premier album \u201c<\/span>Radix Mendosa<\/span><\/i>\u201d, et sont annonciateurs de bonnes nouvelles. L\u2019EP \u201c<\/span>MMXXIV<\/span><\/i>\u201d est alors la promesse de futures belles choses pour le groupe. Je dis \u201cpromesses\u201d car il vrai qu\u2019avec seulement 4 pistes pour 11 minutes au compteur, il y n\u2019a pas beaucoup \u00e0 se mettre sous la dent. Il est donc encore un peu t\u00f4t pour se prononcer. Mais malgr\u00e9 sa courte dur\u00e9e, <\/span>Tragos <\/b>propose quelque chose de tr\u00e8s bonne facture. Notons d’abord que, bien que le groupe ait fait appel \u00e0<\/span> The Security Records<\/span><\/i> pour le mixage et le mastering, cet EP reste de l’autoproduction: en cons\u00e9quence, il faut garder en t\u00eate qu\u2019on est loin des superproductions que peuvent proposer les gros groupes actuels. Le chant, mais \u00e9galement chaque instrument, sont tr\u00e8s bien mix\u00e9s et donnent un ensemble tr\u00e8s coh\u00e9rent et homog\u00e8ne. Mention sp\u00e9ciale pour la basse de <\/span>Fran\u00e7ois<\/span><\/i>, instrument que je trouve trop souvent effac\u00e9 voire inexistant des enregistrements, qui est ici tr\u00e8s bien mise en valeur. Mais \u00e9galement les riffs m\u00e9lodiques issus du classique de <\/span>C\u00e9dric<\/span><\/i>. Le son de <\/span>Tragos<\/b> est caract\u00e9ristique du death metal et on pourrait facilement lui trouver des ressemblances avec celui des g\u00e9ants de <\/span>Cannibal Corpse<\/b>: c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire un son assez graveleux et gras. Je n’ai pas grand-chose \u00e0 dire sur cet EP, \u00e0 part que les musiciens s’en donnent \u00e0 coeur joie: entre les riffs, les rythmiques et les growls\u2026 On sent qu\u2019ils font la musique qu\u2019ils aiment et qui leur ressemble. M\u00eame sur les th\u00e8mes et les paroles, le groupe est all\u00e9 chercher loin en faisant des clins d’\u0153il aupr\u00e8s de grands auteurs comme <\/span>Edgar Allan Poe<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Rimbaud <\/span><\/i>ou encore <\/span>Victor Hugo<\/span><\/i>. Mais je reste un enfant du riff, j\u2019ai tendance \u00e0 privil\u00e9gier la musique plut\u00f4t que la signification des paroles, il est donc plus difficile pour moi de faire des analyses profondes sur les th\u00e8mes \u00e9voqu\u00e9s tout au long de \u201c<\/span>MMXXIV<\/span><\/i>\u201d. Bien que celles-ci prennent une forme presque po\u00e9tique.<\/span><\/p>

Pour moi, le seul \u201cb\u00e9mol\u201d c\u2019est que <\/span>Tragos <\/b>sonne comme ce \u00e0 quoi on s\u2019attend d\u2019un groupe de death metal: il manque juste un petit quelque chose suppl\u00e9mentaire pour r\u00e9ussir \u00e0 se d\u00e9marquer encore plus des autres formations qui officient dans le m\u00eame style\u2026 Peut-\u00eatre l\u2019ajout d\u2019une deuxi\u00e8me guitare ? C’est peut-\u00eatre sur ce point que le groupe pourrait continuer de creuser afin de proposer quelque chose de d\u00e9cal\u00e9 qui constituerait leur propre valeur ajout\u00e9e et leur propre patte artistique. Il me tarde cependant d’\u00e9couter leur prochain long format pour continuer de suivre leur \u00e9volution et leur progression\u2026<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
